This debate could be titled “Left vs. Right: The Battle for the Soul of American Jewry.” Jonathan Tobin (right photo) is editor in chief of JNS.org and a columnist for National Review, the New York Post, The Federalist and Haaraetz. His debating partner is J.J. Goldberg, editor emeritus of the Forward newspaper and former US bureau chief of the Israeli news magazine The Jerusalem Report. They will debate critical issues concerning American Jews, including:
•What’s causing a rise in antisemitism? •How do our concerns about Israel impact our communal stands on racism and other issues facing America? •Which presidential candidate would be “good” for Israel?
The Great Jewish Debate will be a rigorous but amiable exchange between two journalists from different political perspectives. This is a free program as a community service.
