In her memoir Catbird: The Ballad of Barbi Prim, Cantor Barbara J. Ostfeld, the first ordained woman cantor in Jewish history, describes herself as having been an insightful, opinionated eight-year-old who had already taken a few steps toward becoming a pioneer. With anxiety and fear in tow, she embarks on an imperfect, but continuous metamorphosis to become the strong, well-coiffed heroine of her own story. Cantor Ostfeld will be in dialogue with Cantor Leigh Korn. Oneg reception with book signing to follow.
